I have decided to initiate an active job search. I finally have decided to make a break for it and I think that will really help.

getting to know you and UNICEF

Wonderful husband who is the most compassionate veterinarian on the planet to his own great detriment. Three kids in six years. Demanding job in the public sector. Trying to figure out how to grow up without growing out. Have totally given up on being hip but not on being fun. Enjoying being a mama but not always a mother.

Hypercritical, extreme extrovert, avid reader, political progressive. Loyal to a fault. Aware that overfriendliness can be off-putting but unable to stop being so. If any of this sounds familiar give a shout...there's comfort in finding a kindred spirit out in the ether every once in awhile.

parent-teacher conference

I am so in love with my oldest's first grade teacher. She is a dream. Straightforward, doesn't take any nonsense, sets clear limits, works through feelings right away before things escalate, and is FUNNY!!! And I really, really liked her kindergarten teacher so I guess I'm just easy. We filled out a "profile" for the first conference and Mrs. O couldn't believe how much we were "on the same page" about goals, talents, anxieties, temperment traits. Life is good. We choose to pay high taxes and live where the schools are great. I shouldn't be surprised to be so happy with her public elementary school but I am. Let me know your experiences. Is this too good to be true?

blogging obsession gets serious

so having been an avid reader of blogs I've decided to create one for my own sake. It seems like a place to put stuff. What do you use your blog for? Archiving history of your family? Making political statements? Finding others with like interests? please let me know...
